A good reference on RF System analysis

I came across this book after I went through a few books on RF system design. I guess I can confidently say that the book covers the most important aspects of the RF system design such as noise figure, inter-modulation and adjacent channel power ratio calculations. The cascaded system analysis (Noise figure and OIP calculations)are explained in a very straightforward and easy to follow manner. Of particular interest is the section on the architectural trade-off analysis. This section provides a very clear overview of fundamental issues that impact RF system design in most practical environments.

This book has room for improvement though. In particular, the ADC noise figure analysis for the band-pass sampling (appendix 3D) does not cover the ADC non-linearity, the jitter noise and the aliasing due to sub-sampling. Moreover, most of the examples are around the mobile hand-set systems. In my opinion expanding the analysis to the base-station could benefit some readers in this area.

Reader can find himself annoyed by many typo errors in the bibliography section. I am expecting these minor issues to be resolved over the subsequent editions. Overall, I recommend this book for RF system designers who need an up-to-date encyclopedia in this area.

Brilliant, delightful, and profoundly inspiring!

The Book of Joy lives up to its title and goes much further. It highlights the many ways in which we can all bring greater joy, fulfillment and purpose into our lives, and illuminates the nature of the interconnected relationship between painful emotions and deep happiness. The book not only reaffirms this truth with great clarity, but through the magic of Abrams’ skillful facilitation shows the many ways in which these two great spiritual leaders, both of whom are also great teachers of peace and reconciliation, embody the totality of what it means to be both ordinary and simultaneously outrageous, mischievous, and completely unpredictable!
An unexpected delight of this book is the frequency and ease with which these two men bring forth their playfulness, wit, wisdom, and laugh-out-loud humor, even when they are immersed in profoundly deep discourse.
What I found personally most rewarding was the teaching that ran through the book that had to do with the many ways in which it is possible to find joy even in the most difficult of times. Both of these men have endured great hardship and adversity both in their own lives and in the lives of millions of their countrymen, women and children, and yet their extraordinarily brilliant spirit shines brightly through every page of this amazing book. How do they do it? The Book of Joy truly fulfills its promise to answer that question.
I give this book five stars only because I can’t give it six!

It May Change You Forever!

A quick read that offers much good medicine for our troubled world. Both the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu have risen beyond their respective religions to reach out to all humans regardless of their location. A lot of inspiration here. Read it once or twice and chew on what they say. It could lighten your load, put a smile on your face, and maybe change your life.

I wish everyone in the world could read this book. Could not put it down from the moment I started reading. H.H. Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu are two of the finest living Beings on the planet. We are fortunate to have their encouraging and inspiring words on how to live in these challenging times. I sent copies of this book to friends and family and they will pay it forward. The best book that I read in 2016.

Just what we needed!

We needed a book to encourage our son to give up his pacifier, and we needed one FAST! He had already been without his "nonny" for a couple nights, but had found it again and was really struggling to go to bed without it. It had to be a Kindle book, so I downloaded this one and hoped it would work.

Pros: In this story, the child - who is older, btw - CHOOSES to be a big boy and give up his pacifier. That was vital to me; I didn't want a book about a fairy or something that would shame a child, just a positive example of a kid making a difficult decision on his own. This was perfect. It also addressed that there would be some sad feelings after the choice was made, but that was okay and normal. And lastly, my son loved the pictures of the little boy with his paci!

Cons: This book is LONG, and really not written to a child. It uses some words and definitely some ideas that a younger child would not understand, and talks about how the mom is feeling and what she's thinking, which is totally out of place in a kids' book. I had to paraphrase the entire book, and really wished it was only half as long. Also, nitpicking maybe, but the boy is supposed to be three but goes to kindergarten every day. Maybe preschool or daycare would have been a better choice?

Overall, this book did exactly what we needed it to - after reading it, my son put his "nonny" in his pocket, and went to sleep. He hasn't had his pacifier in almost two weeks! It could use a good edit, but was certainly worth the price.

Great Job Tommy

This has a very nice storyline. Tommy has always loved his pacifier, he brings it everywhere with him. Tommy was 3years old but still couldn't do without his pacifier. He name it Mr Binky. Tommy's mom wanted him to stop using Mr Binky so she thought of a way how she can get him to stop. Tommy really loved trucks, so there was this one truck that he couldn't get his eyes off. He would looked at it every morning while on the way to school. Mom told Tommy that he can get the Truck but he would have to give Mr Binky in exchange for the truck.Tommy thought long and hard if he wants to give up Mr Binky. In the end he finally did, in exchange for the truck.

He was left feeling happy.

If you have a child that wont let the Pacifier go, you can definitely read to your son/daughter. Also great for bedtime stories.

Great Ideas for giving up the pacifier

I brought this book as my nephew is having a really hard time giving up his pacifier. This book is a great help. It covers the story of a three year old who really loves his pacifier but his mum knows its time for the "binky" to go. She wants it to be her sons choice, and not to push him. She decides to take him to the toy store and show him a lovely truck. She tells him he can pay with his pacifier if he really wants the truck. A few days later he decides he is ready and swaps binky for the truck! I told my sister, and we read this book together with my nephew. She is taking my nephew to the toyshop today. Fingers crossed we have as much success. The creative pack (free!) was a great bonus too.
